Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated standup comedian, actress, writer, producer. and director Amy Schumer’s combination of humor, authenticity, and advocacy fosters a genuine connection with audiences worldwide. Schumer is the creator, star, writer, and executive producer of Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, which won a Peabody Award, a 2015 Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety Sketch Series, the first-ever Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sketch Variety Series, and a nomination Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Schumer’s Universal Pictures film Trainwreck (2015), dominated the worldwide box office as the hit summer comedy. She won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy and was nominated for a Writers’ Guild Award in the category of Original Screenplay. That same year, the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) honored Schumer with The Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.  In 2016, she was nominated for a Tony for her role in Steve Martin’s Meteor Shower. Schumer’s three-part documentary series, Expecting Amy premiered on HBO Max, an intimate look at Schumer’s fertility battles difficulties while documenting the formation of her latest comedy special. She also premiered the second season of her Food Network cooking show, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, with her husband Chris Fischer, an award-winning chef. Her comedy specials routinely receive Emmy nominations and top ratings.Her most recent projects include critically-acclaimed series from Hulu’s Life & Beth Season 2 which Schumer stars in, created, wrote, and directed and the Golden Globe-nominated Netflix comedy special, Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact.   

Schumer’s first book, The New York Times bestseller The Girl with The Lower Back Tattoo, earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Spoken Word Album. Schumer also recently co-hosted the 94th Academy Awards alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. Known for her candid approach to discussing topics spanning self-confidence, gender equality, and mental health, Schumer’s relatable humor resonates with any room, making her message both impactful and accessible.

Biography

Amy Schumer is a Golden Globe, Tony and Grammy-nominated standup comedian, actress, writer, producer, activist, and director. Her most recent projects include critically-acclaimed series from Hulu’s Life & Beth Season 2 which Schumer stars in, created, wrote, and directed and the Golden Globe-nominated Netflix comedy special, Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact

Among her many projects, Schumer is also the creator, star, writer, and executive producer of the award-winning Inside Amy Schumer, the popular Comedy Central television series, which premiered in April 2013 to the network’s highest season premiere ratings of that year. Inside Amy Schumer won the 2015 Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety Sketch series. In 2015, the show was honored with the first-ever Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sketch Variety Series. Schumer was also nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Schumer received honors for Individual Achievement in Comedy and Outstanding Achievement in Comedy from the Television Critics Association in 2015.  Additionally, she was awarded the 2015 Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.  Among the show’s many accolades, it also received the prestigious Peabody Award in 2014.

Schumer will next be starring in and producing the Netflix Comedy Kinda Pregnant alongside Will Forte and Jillian Bell from director Tyler Spindel with Adam Sandler producing under his Happy Madison Production Banner. 

Schumer’s first book, The New York Times bestseller The Girl with The Lower Back Tattoo, earned her a 2017 Grammy Award nomination for Best Spoken Word Album and was released in paperback in August 2017.

Some of her other credits include award-winning Train Wreck (2015), Snatched (2017), and The Humans (2021) and her comedy specials Amy Schumer: Live At The Apollo (2015), The Leather Special (2017), and Amy Schumer: Growing (2019). She was nominated for a Tony for her role in Steve Martin’s play Meteor Shower (2017). She is the only female comic to headline Madison Square Garden.
