Cerebral Palsy: Fundraising, Advocacy, & Awareness
Taking action after the cerebral palsy diagnosis of her nephew, Michael, CHERYL HINES has taken up incredible advocacy work. Hines sits on the Board of Trustees of United Cerebral Palsy, visits with members of Congress on behalf of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) to advocate for funding, and served as the mistress of ceremonies at UCP's 50th-anniversary fundraising gala. Hines’ deep care for the cause allows her to give thoughtful, personal remarks.

Two-time Emmy Award winner, actress and director CHERYL HINES is sought-after at healthcare awareness and fundraising events, as audiences connect to her authentic voice and shared experiences supporting a loved one living with a disease. Hines recently “delighted the maxed-out crowd” at St. Joseph’s Hospitals Foundation Luncheon in Tampa, showcasing her humorous, relaxed way of talking about the serious work of the hospital community - patients, family, caregivers and healthcare workers. Inspired by her nephew with Cerebral Palsy, Ms. Hines is a long-standing advocate and Board of Trustee of United Cerebral Palsy, an organization dedicated to supporting the CP community. Her dedication is real, praising the families and healthcare teams who support those in need, which she again personally experienced during the difficult time her step-father was in hospice. “I know that they are in the trenches doing the hard work every day. They're with the families and the kids and the teachers," she said. "It's easy for me to be inspired by them.” Hines focuses on the humanity and community through which patients find healing or coping to live full lives amid their diagnoses.
Emmy Award-nominated actress, director and producer Cheryl Hines is best known for her role as “Cheryl David” on the Emmy Award-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning series Curb Your Enthusiasm, which aired its eleventh season in 2021 and is getting ready to start production on season 12. Hines also stepped behind the camera to direct an episode. Cheryl can currently be seen on Season 2 of the critically acclaimed HBO Max series The Flight Attendant playing a CIA Operative.
Hine’s has starred in numerous feature films including A Bad Moms Christmas, RV, Wilson and Waitress. Additional TV credits include starring roles on television comedy series Suburgatory, the animated series Son of Zorn and 3Below: Tales of Arcadia.
Hines has produced shows for major networks, including School Pride, Hollywood Residential and the award-winning series Campus Ladies. She has directed many TV series, as well as the feature film Serious Moonlight, written by the late Adrienne Shelley and starring Meg Ryan and Timothy Hutton.
