Newton’s impact extends beyond football, and he won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award – which is given to the player who demonstrates excellence on the field and in his community – and the subsequent charity challenge, a $25K contribution by Nationwide to his charity of choice. He has received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and the Order of the Palmetto, the highest awards given by the governors of the Carolinas, for his incredible contributions as a philanthropic leader in the community, including $5M in donations through The Cam Newton Foundation. Biography

Cam Newton is the first NFL player in 60 years to win the Heisman Trophy, a national championship, and be the No. 1 overall draft pick in the same academic year.

In 2011, his rookie year, Newton set an NFL record for touchdowns rushing in a season by a quarterback and became the first player in league history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 500. He helped the Carolina Panthers improve from 2-14 to 6-10 in one season.

For his efforts, Newton was awarded the 2011 Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year and was selected to the 2011 Pro Bowl.

Following an impressive year at Auburn University in 2010, Newton took home every major post-season award. He was also honored by the House of Representatives as “the most outstanding college football player in the United States.”

In 2015, Newton led the Carolina Panthers to a first place finish in the NFC South with a record of 15-1, scoring an impressive 45 touchdowns during the season. After a postseason victory over the Seattle Seahawks, the Panthers took on the Arizona Cardinals for the NFC Championship and a spot in Super Bowl 50. Cam Newton was signed by the New England Patriots as a free agent on July, 8, 2020. 

Off the field, Newton has hosted several charitable events focused on children’s needs and has plans to continue giving back to the community.
