Lagasse established the Emeril Lagasse Foundation to support children’s educational programs that inspire and mentor young people through culinary arts, school food and nutrition, and important life skills programs. The Foundation has created an accessible learning kitchen at St. Michael Special School, a culinary learning center for at-risk youth at Café Reconcile, and the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Culinary Arts Studio, a four-year youth culinary arts program with educational grants for students from underrepresented backgrounds. Vie Magazine said the Foundation’s work “has quietly impacted the lives of thousands of the South’s most vulnerable children.”
