Medical student and science educator Joel Bervell inspires students
Science communicator, medical student, and TikTok content creator JOEL BERVELL is a champion for minorities in STEM. At an event with Novartis, Bervell connected with teens at the Novartis Multicultural Teen Corporate Mentoring program. Novartis said, "These students left the day more informed about health equity and how they can contribute creating more equitable healthcare for everyone. [Joel's] insights and real-world examples drove the point home, and [Joel's] openness to connect directly with so many of the attendees created a lasting impact on them.”
Bervell is an advocate for mentorship and fostering educational opportunities. He is the founder and director of the Coug Health Academic Mentoring Program (CHAMP), a mentoring program dedicated to increasing the number of underrepresented students in medicine.
