U.S. Olympian KENDALL COYNE SCHOFIELD is a highly decorated hockey star. She is an Olympic gold and silver medalist, six-time world champion, and winner of an astounding 21 medals in international competition. During her college career, she was a tree-time all-American and all-time leading scorer at Northeastern University, for which she won the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award for Top Collegiate Women’s Player. In honor of her many awards, conferred over her flourishing career, Coyne Scholfield was inducted into the Northeastern University Hall of Fame in 2023.

Decorated U.S. Olympian and role model KENDALL COYNE SCHOFIELD has achieved many firsts on the ice as a woman in hockey. She was the first woman to compete in NHL All-Star Skills Competition and finished less than a second behind the winner. She was the only woman to play alongside men in the Chicago Pro Hockey League in ‘18/’19, making her establishment of the Professional Women’s Hockey League even more poignant.

Olympian Kendall Coyne Schofield gives back as a youth hockey coach
Decorated U.S. Olympian and accomplished hockey star KENDALL COYNE SCHOFIELD, on top of creating the Professional Women’s Hockey League, gives back to women’s hockey as the Chicago Blackhawks Female Player Development Coach and Youth Hockey Coach. Coyne Schofield’s commitment to player development draws from her experiences of following her older brother Kevin around the house on roller blades, peppering pucks at the walls of her childhood home in the Chicago suburbs. Even as Coyne Schofield’s career has taken off, she told the LA Times that she has “continued working for the Blackhawks remotely, planning youth hockey programs and breaking down their prospects’ games by Zoom.”

Olympian Kendall Coyne Schofield launches the Professional Women's Hockey League as a new mother
Decorated U.S. Olympian and accomplished hockey star KENDALL COYNE SCHOFIELD launched and competed at the groundbreaking Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) as a new mother. Before the league’s debut season began, Coyne Schofield had her first child who, at six months old, travels full-time on the road with his mom and her PWHL team. In fact, StarTribune reports, “On consecutive days…three-time Olympian Kendall Coyne Schofield delivered her first child and celebrated the birth of a legitimate women's professional hockey league for which she worked so tirelessly and so long.”

Kendall Coyne Schofield, “the fastest woman in hockey,” is the captain of the United States women’s national hockey team and an Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist who recently led Team USA at the 2022 Games in Beijing. Kendall has captured an astounding 23 medals in international competition, including six gold medals at the IIHF World Women’s Championships, a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics and silver medals at the 2014 and 2022 Games.
Kendall’s title as “the fastest woman in hockey” came about in 2019 when she became the first female to compete in the fastest skater challenge at the NHL All-Star Skills Competition. Her time of 14.346 seconds was less than one second behind the winning NHL skater sending shockwaves throughout the sports world in a breakthrough moment for women’s hockey.
In January 2022, Kendall released her autobiography, As Fast As Her, published by HarperCollins. This inspiring story has reached #1 on Amazon in several categories, even scoring a hat trick when simultaneously #1, #2 & #3 on Amazon in teen and young adult hockey in hardcover, audio, and kindle respectively!
A Palos Heights, Illinois native, Kendall was a 3-time All-American and 2-time captain at Northeastern University in Boston, MA where she finished her collegiate career as the Huskies’ all-time leader in points (249), goals (141), single season points (84) and was the recipient of the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, given annually to the top player in division one college hockey.
Kendall has a career of “firsts” – as the first female NHL All-Star Skills competitor, first female development coach for the Chicago Blackhawks, first woman to serve as an analyst for a Chicago Blackhawks regular season game and member of the first all-women NHL Tonight broadcast team. She is the founder of the “Golden Coynes” all-girls hockey development program in partnership with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Kendall Coyne Hockey Camp.
A part owner of the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL, Kendall has additional TV analyst credits serving on the broadcasts for several NHL teams and Notre Dame men’s hockey as well as the NHL Network and NBC Sports. Along with her husband, NFL star and 2016 Super Bowl champion, Michael Schofield, Kendall is the co-founder of the Schofield Family Foundation which provides funding, support and awareness for local programs involving the military, first responders, youth sports organizations and families in need.
Kendall graduated from Northeastern University with a B.A. (‘017) and M.S. (‘019) Summa Cum Laude. She was named by Forbes Magazine to its highly coveted “30 Under 30 Class of 2022.”
Kendall is a leader on and off the ice -- as Captain of Team USA and President and Board Member of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). It is Kendall’s goal to develop a sustainable – and long overdue – professional women’s hockey league, providing career opportunities for the best players in the world and showcasing this great sport to new generations of players and fans.
