College basketball phenomenon Rori Harmon has secured her place as a young star in her sport and a humble force in her community. While playing high school basketball for Cypress Creek in Houston, TX, Rori tallied 2,572 points, 745 assists, 700 steals in 146 games. In her first year playing for the Texas Longhorns, Rori lead the Longhorns to a 29-7 season, emerging as one of the team’s best leaders. She has been recognized as an All-American Honorable Mention by both the AP and WBCA and was named the 2022 Big 12 Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. In addition, Rori was named Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team – after making a splash in the NCAA March Madness Tournament, she captured a spot on the Spokane Regional All-Tournament Team where she led the Longhorns to the Elite 8. Every goal that Rori sets for herself she achieves – overcoming obstacles, leveraging her strengths, and stepping up as a leader for her team.

Rori has already earned a plethora of accolades for her fearless energy on the court: Texas Gatorade Player of the Year, a McDonald’s All American, and recognition by The Houston Chronicle as the All-Greater Houston Co-Player of the Year. She has been celebrated by the conference as the Freshman Player of the Week four times, and in February of 2022 as the ESPN W National Player of the Week. Rounding out her accomplishments, she was named the Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week Award from the National Collegiate Basketball Writers Association. Beyond the basketball court, Rori is passionate about making an impact in her community through volunteering – participating in community beautification projects in the wake of Hurricane Harvey and donating her time as a youth basketball coach. In motivational talks, she offers insights about what it means to be a student athlete, the impact of Title IX on her career, and DEI and being a part of the LGBTQ+ and Black communities.

Biography

Rori Harmon is a college women’s basketball player for the Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 conference. In her first year at Texas, Rori lead the Longhorns to a 29-7 season, and was recognized as a 2022 All-America Honorable Mention by both the AP and WBCA. She was named the 2022 Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Freshman of the Year and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team.
